Frequently Asked Question:

What does a Supporter do?

The Supporter page is a place to gather links to all of the other excellent websites out there conducting research into animation. It is not a list of financial contributors. Since the Early Animation Wiki is an outgrowth of a university research project, we have no commercial operations, and relatively little overhead. We are not currently in a position to accept material contributions.

First and foremost, a supporter is someone who is willing to have a link to their website listed on our wiki. Ideally, you would also include a link to the Early Animation Wiki on your website, but only if you wanted to.

We also hope that supporters will send us announcements of upcoming events, publications, screenings, and any other news related to animation, so that we can spread the word. We have a space on the wiki for current events and announcements.

Obviously, the other thing a supporter can do is to talk up the Early Animation Wiki. Although we will continue to update and expand the wiki for as long as we can afford to, the more contributors we can add to the wiki, who are actively adding to it, the more likely it is to succeed as a research venture with or without us.

If you have a website devoted to the study of animation, we very much hope you will become a supporter of the Early Animation Wiki, and will spread the word to others you think might be interested!

If you would like to become a supporter of the Early Animation Wiki and have your website listed on our Supporter page, please contact the administrator at admin@rarebit.org.
