Occupation - Title Arthur (Art) Bartsch was an American animator. Biography Bartsch spent his entire career at Terrytoons. He started working at the studio in the 1940s, becoming a director in 1958. Throughout his career he worked on numerous animations starring studio's most celebrated characters: Sydney the Elephant, Sad Cat, Stanley the Lion, and Cleo the Giraffe, among others. Family/Early Life Education/Training Career Outline He began as a background artist in the 1940's and was elevated to director in 1958. He was asked to direct a new cartoon Sidney the Elephant.
